In his officiation speech, YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin underscored a pivotal agenda—EQUITY—and earnestly sought solutions to the imperative question of its reduction. He urged the collaborative implementation of strategic measures among Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) and associated industries. The emphasis was on fostering innovative solutions within Teaching and Learning (TnL) to guarantee a more equitable landscape in higher education. These solutions should include key elements such as disruptive technology and alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into consideration.

The keynote address, "Equitable Higher Education Recovery: A Roadmap for Higher Education in the Post-Pandemic," was delivered by Professor Penny Jane Burke, who holds the prestigious UNESCO Chair in Equity, Social Justice, and Higher Education and serves as the Global Innovation Chair of Equity. During her insightful presentation, Professor Burke shed light on the pervasive inequalities within higher education and addressed the critical issue of gender-based violence. Her discourse not only highlighted the challenges faced by the education sector in the aftermath of the pandemic but also provided a roadmap for achieving a more equitable and socially just higher education system.

The discussion unravel the question of digital divide (DD) influences academic processes especially IHL.
1. Access to the internet connection.
2. Digital literacy divide.
One of panel highlights "right to internet access" can be a tool for policymaker to bridge the DD gap.

Regarding Digital divide and disruptive tech such Generative AI, IHLs should be reminded to the role of education. It is there to provide value to the society, no just RoI. This is the foundation for us build new knowledge and provide values to the world. Each and every one of us has an impact.

The discussion starts with the definition of equality vs equity. The moderator provide an example;
" Equality is giving everyone shoes while Equity is giving everyone shoes THAT FITS"
Prof Dr Ruzita highlights that Talent Resilience is the ability to utilize knowledge in VUCA world. In short, adapting chabge and to survive.
"Disability is not due to impairment, it is due to barriers"
Sistemic Barriers are in place physically (or in process) in our system that limits those with disabilities. Attitudal Barriers relates internal acceptance/block.
"Visible inclusion vs invisible exclusion"
The panels argues that while IHL and employers alike strive for inclusion for underpriviledged and marginalized group. We should also look into "invisible exclusion" in our organization. Prof Rozita mentioned, for instance , companies more likely to avoid considering resumés with disability as interview candidates.
